Happy Reunion! やっとお会いできました！

いかがお過ごしでしょうか。ヤーンアライブはクラスが再開いたしました。長期に渡りお休みしておりましたらか飛び上がるほど嬉しい再会になっております！まだ集まれるメンバーさんは限られておりますが少しずつ戻って来てくださってます。以前のようなフルメンバーの集まりにはまだ戻っておりませんが、毎クラスお会いできるおひとりおひとりと嬉しい再会を果たしております！お休みの間にお家で仕上げた作品を見せていただきました。素敵な作品に仕上がっていますね！

Enjoying the beautiful May? Yarn Alive has started opening up classes at Yarn Alive House after months of break. It has been very happy reunion meeting everyone who has came back. So good to see ladies face to face again and spend time together to work on projects! Ladies enjoy being with their friends! It has been too long!! Some ladies brought what made during these months of break! Beautiful vests and a hat!!

ヤーンアライブは5月10日から活動を再開することになりました！長い間お休みしておりましたが、やっとメンバーの皆さんと顔と顔を合わせお会いすることが出来るようになります！感謝！感謝！！少しづつ活動を再開しながらご支援くださる皆さまにも近況報告をお知らせしていきたいと思っております。

毛糸や手芸用品のご寄付のお問合せいただき、発送をお待ちいただいている皆さまお手数お掛けしております。活動開始に伴い、ご寄付受け取りの準備も進めております。こちらの準備が整いましたらお知らせいたします。ご発送はもうしばらくお待ちください。ご支援に心から感謝いたします。

Happy Spring! We are excited to announce you that we are opening up gatherings and classes at Yarn Alive House starting on May 10th! Happy News! We are excited to see our dear ladies face to face again!

We appreciate you very much for your support for Yarn Alive! We are getting way up there to receive yarn, but we are asking to hold yarn for now. Once we are ready to receive yarn, we will announce you. Thank you for your patience with us.

Happy Spring! うれしい春がやってきました！

4月になり春がやってきました。

皆さまいかがお過ごしでしょうか。

今年の冬はとても寒かったので桜の開花が昨年より遅れていますが、ヤーンアライブでは毛糸のお花が咲き始めています！うれしい春ですね！皆さまに早くお会いして一緒に編み物をしたい気持ちでいっぱいです。

2月からお休みが続いておりますが、宮城県七ヶ浜町のオミクロン感染状況がもう少し落ち着き安心して集まれるようになるまで4月もヤーンアライブの活動・クラスをお休みすることになりました。来月5月のゴールデンウィーク後からは活動再開を予定しております。

もうしばらくの辛抱です。来月元気にお会いできるのを楽しみにしております！！

春といっても七ヶ浜はまだ風が冷たいです。どうぞあったかくお過ごしくださいね。

April is here and it’s spring! I hope everyone is enjoying spring! This winter was so cold and cherry blossoms are blooming late this spring, however, flowers are blooming at Yarn Alive House! It is happy Spring!!

We will take another break this month in April, but we are hoping and planning on starting our classes again after Golden Week in May!!! Yes, finally we will get to see our ladies!! It is too bad not being able to meet in person and have a good time knitting together, but we will see everyone soon!

Still chilly and windy in Shichigahama, stay warm! We look forward to seeing you all!

全国からの応援と毛糸のご寄付に心から感謝しております。

皆さま寒い日が続いておりますがいかがお過ごしですか。

オミクロンの感染が七ヶ浜でも拡大しているという状況で3月もヤーンアライブはクラスをお休みすることになりました。クラスの皆さんの元気な笑顔になかなかお出会いできなくてとても寂しいです。

春は着実にやってきています！3月もあったかくお元気でお過ごしくださいね！4月にはみなさまにお会いできますように今から心待ちにしております！

クラスや毛糸の仕分けの活動が再開できるまで3月も毛糸のご寄付受け入れもしばらくお休みいたします。皆さまのご支援にスタッフ一同心から感謝しております。

Yarn Alive is on break now and we will continue on break in March. The numbers of Covid is going up in Shichigahama and Miyagi prefecture. We miss our ladies very much. We are hoping to open up classes in April! Spring is almost here! We hope to see them in Spring!

We are happy to receive yarn donation but not now. We appreciate our supporters to hold yarn till we can get together again in classes and sorting yarn again in Spring. We will let you know when we are ready to receive yarn donation! Thank you so much for your help and support for Yarn Alive!

Hi Everyone!

We hope you all had a nice and relaxing month in January! It has been very cold winter.

皆さま元気にお過ごしでしょうか。

例年以上に寒い冬ですね。2022年もどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

The sock bear sitting on the Shichigahama map and living in the Yarn Alive House is looking very sad to announce we are taking a month off in February from our class activities due to the omicron spreading. We hope and pray the staying-home season will come to the end very soon. We hope to see you and all our dear knitting and sewing friends hopefully in March! We will update you on the dates for starting our classes again. 

We hope you all are staying warm and well! We miss you!

ヤーンアライブハウスに住んでいる靴下から作られたくまちゃん。七ヶ浜の地図の上に座って、なかなか皆さんにお会い出来なくてなんだか寂しそうです。日本中でコロナウイルスの感染が拡大しているというニュースが連日流れていますね。オミクロン株の広がりの心配からヤーンアライブは2月のクラスはお休みすることにいたしました。

くまちゃん涙。。

3月にはクラスを再開したいと願っておりますが、感染状況や様子を見ながら改めてクラス再開の日程をお知らせいたしますね。

一日でも早いコロナ終息を祈っております。

Christmas greetings! クリスマスのご挨拶

Greetings to all of you from all of us at Yarn Alive! What a year this has been! We have had many months of canceled classes because of Covid-19 fears and restrictions. The ladies have loved being able to be together again during the last three months. We have learned that we truly do need each other! It was sad that we couldn’t have an all classes together Christmas Party this year, but we were able to pass out Christmas gift bags to 90 class members! We are alive and well at Yarn Alive!

皆様にヤーンアライブよりクリスマスのご挨拶をお伝えします！今年も予想していなかった年でしたね。コロナウイルスの感染拡大状況によって、私たちのクラスも何度もキャンセルしました。この3ヶ月間ほどはやっとクラスを再開でき、メンバーのみんなも集まって編み物を楽しむことができることをとても喜んでいます。私たちがどんなにお互いとの繋がりを必要としているか、ますます感じさせられました！今年のクリスマスは以前のように全クラス集まってパーティーを開催することができませんが、９０人ほどいるメンバー全員にプレゼントを贈ることができました。ヤーンアライブは今年も元気に活動を続けています！

We want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! And we want to thank you for your kind donations yarn and tools and books and of course monetary gifts also. We wouldn’t have been able to continue for these past ten years without all of your help!

皆様に心からメリークリスマスと新年のご挨拶を申し上げます。皆様のご寄付をとても感謝しています。皆様の助けなくしては、１０年間活動を続けてくることは不可能でした。

The picture of the crocheted christmas tree is a reminder of all of the gifts we have received through these years. During the winter of 2011 after the earthquake, a university student from Nagoya started a project to gather hats and scaves for people in the disaster areas of Tohoku. Thousands of hats and scarves were sent by people from all over Japan and America. One gift that came was this christmas tree made by a lady in Shizuoka to be given to a temporary shelter of the students choice. His mother was connected to Yarn Alive so it was decided to send it to us. When it came, we decided to give it to the temporary Post Office in our area so that many more people could enjoy the hand made Christmas tree.

この手編みのクリスマスツリーを見て、この１０年間いろいろな方々からいただいた様々なご寄付を思い出しています。２０１１年の震災後、名古屋在住の一人の大学生が支援プロジェクトを開始しました。東北の人々のためにスカーフや帽子を集めて贈るというものでした。日本国内、国外からもたくさんのスカーフや帽子が集められました。このツリーは、静岡の女性から贈られたものです。この大学生の母親がヤーンアライブを知っていたので、私たちのもとに送られてきたのです。私たちは、このツリーを私たちの町の仮設郵便局にプレゼントすることにしました。町の多くの人々がこのツリーを見ることができました。

Every year the Post Office staff displays the tree. They told us that many people comment on it every year. We thought you might enjoy seeing it also. We are so grateful for all the people who have been part of this project over these ten years! You have made a lot of people very happy!

それ以来毎年、この季節になると今では新設された郵便局にこのクリスマスツリーが飾られます。毎年何人もの方々がツリーを見てコメントしてくださるとのことです。１０年間、私たちの活動にご賛同くださった皆様に心から感謝を申し上げます。皆様のご支援が、多くの方々の笑顔に繋がってきました。ありがとうございます。

１０年が経ちました Ten year memorial

今年に入って２ヶ月もお休みしていた各クラスが先週再開しました。久しぶりにみんなで集まってますます感じたのは、私たちはお互いを必要としているということです。いつもより人数は少なかったのですが、参加したメンバーは本当に心を踊らせて来ました。ある女性は、嬉しすぎて楽しみすぎてクラスの前の日の夜は眠れなかったと話してくれました。こういうコメントには毎回感動します。人に会えることを楽しみにできるって素敵なことですね。そして、その場を提供できることをとても光栄に感じます。

今日は震災から10年。

改めて、ここにいることの奇跡に感謝し、お互いを必要としていることに気づけたことに感謝し、自分の存在が誰かの励ましになり得ることに感謝しています。あの日には見えなかった希望が、今日のみなさんの心にありますように祈ります。

この場を使って、今までの10年間にヤーンアライブを応援し、ご支援くださった皆さまに心から感謝を申し上げます。私たちの編み物と交流はこれからも続きます。代表テディが言ったように、「みなさんが来たいと思う限り、ずっと続けます」。

We resumed our classes last week, and we could not be happier! After having two months of not being able to see each other, it is more clear than ever that we need each other. There were not as many of us in class last week, but those who came were excited. One of the ladies told Teddy that she was so excited about coming to class and seeing everyone that she couldn’t sleep the night before! These kind of comments touch our hearts every time. Isn’t it wonderful that we are able to look forward to seeing each other at class again? And we feel honored to be able to provide this kind of space.

Today marks 10 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake.

We are thankful for the miracle of us being alive, thankful for the need of each other, thankful that each of our lives can be an encouragement to someone. We pray that today, hope is present in your hearts and in the hearts of those who were not able to find it on this day 10 years ago.

Thank you to all of you who have supported us in different ways over the last 10 years. We will continue to meet and knit. Like Teddy said to one of the interviewers when asked how long we would continue, “We will do this for as long as people want to come.”

今週は２０２１になって初のクラス開催です！First classes in 2021 starting this week!

3月になりましたね。

皆さんいかがお過ごしですか？

先月の地震は大きく長く揺れて、10年前の感覚がよみがえるようでしたが、ありがたいことにメンバー皆無事でした。(代表テディーの家でも食器が割れたり家具が倒れたりはしましたが！)何人もの方々がご心配くださり、ご連絡いただきました。ありがとうございます。

そして、今月からはクラスも再開します！

今年に入ってずっとお休みしていたので、みんなに会えるのが楽しみです！

今月のテーマは先月に引き続き「愛」です。

愛を感じるというと難しく聞こえるかもしれませんが、お互いとの関わりの中で嬉しい思いが通じ合う時も、それは愛だと思います。今月もお互いの存在に感謝しながら過ごしたいです。

March is here! We hope you are all well and excited about the little signs of spring here and there!

Last month’s earthquake shook quite big and long, which of course reminded us of the big earthquake and tsunami 10 years ago. But we’re so thankful that none of us got injured and there was only little damage (like broken plates at Teddy’s etc). Many of you asked if we were ok, and we are always so grateful for the care and support we receive from you!

And we’re happy to announce that we will resume our classes this week! We have not met in classes this year yet, and we cannot wait to see each other after a long winter break!

We’re continuing with the theme LOVE this month. Love and joy can be found everywhere as we are thankful for each other and value each other every day. We’re sending you all lots of love from Yarn Alive!

「七ヶ浜恵みのフェア」に出展しました！Shichigahama blessings fair!

不安になってしまうニュースが絶えない２０２０年ですが、その中でも秋の光は全てを美しくしますね。みなさまはいかがお過ごしでしょうか？

ヤーンアライブは、七ヶ浜町主催の「七ヶ浜恵みのフェア」にご招待いただき、出展してきました。

There are so many news everywhere that may make us feel anxious, but in the midst of it all, the beautiful autumn light makes everything even more precious and enjoyable! We hope you are all keeping well wherever you are!

Yarn Alive was invited to be a part of a local event in our town, “Shichigahama blessings fair” last Sunday.

風の強い１日でしたが、気持ちのいい秋空の下たくさんの人が集まりました。七ヶ浜は震災でたくさんを失いましたが、その後の町民たちの負けない気持ちによって（そして町の外のみなさまのご支援によって）どんどん素敵な町になっていると感じます。

It was a windy day, but many people came to the fair enjoying food and other goods under the beautiful autumn sky. Shichigahama lost so much in the 2011 disaster, but the people of our town (and people from all over the world) encouraged each other to not lose hope, making Shichigahama more and more attractive.
