Yarn Alive has been hearing about good things happening in Marumori town! Ladies there are gathering knitting and enjoying the fun and safe community. Here is a community news flier of Marumori town that sharing about the group of ladies there. Here it says;
Marumori Livelihood Development Project, Motif Association on March 1, 2024
The members of the Motif group started meeting in a new location in Shinmei housing. This has been their activity from while they lived in temporary housings after the disaster by a typhoon in 2019. The members became good friends through their hobby of knitting since then they had first started meeting.
The number of members has increased with the addition of people who were invited by people at the community center and even some men came and joined who knitted for the first time!
The knitting group Yarn Alive from Shichigahama sent relief supplies to Marumori.
The Marumori Motif Group started meeting regularly when they received a lot of yarn from them. Each member uses the yarn they received to make their own knitted items, and other times they knit many hats for sending them to disaster affected areas.
From Yarn Alive in Shichigahama, the circle of gathering and helping each other has spread in Marumori! They are now reaching far across the sea to Syria, Turkey, which was hit by an earthquake in February last year. The group hopes to continue to support others.
We sincerely wish and pray for the safety of those who have been affected by earthquakes and for the speedy recovery and rebuilding to a peaceful life.

モチーフの会〜つながっていく~
神明住宅の集会所で9月から活動を再開したモチーフの会のみなさん。
仮設住宅から活動を始めて、趣味の編み物を通じて仲良くなったメンバーですが、新しい場所に移ってから近所の方に誘われて来た方や、編み物が初めての男性の方も加わり人数が増えました！
令和元年の台風19号で(災した丸森町へ、七ヶ浜町の編み物の団体より支援物資としてたくさんの毛糸をいただいたことから始まった「モチーフの会」。いただいた毛糸でそれぞれ好きな作品を作ることもあれば、帽子を編んで．災地へ贈る活動もされています。
七ヶ浜から始まった支援の輪は丸森町から遠く海を越えて、昨年2月に地震被害を受けたトルコ・シリアへ繋がりました。今後も、国内外で起こりうる災害で．害を受けられた方々への支援を続けていきたいとのことです。
袚害を受けられた皆様の安全と1日でも早く平穏な生活に戻られますことを心よりお祈り申し上げます。
