先週の土曜日のヤーンアライブハウスは、またまた賑わいました！多賀城市国際交流協会のジュニア部のみなさんが訪問してくださいました。Yarn Alive House was busy last Saturday! We had some elementary school children and volunteer staff from Tagajo city International Exchange Group Junior section visit us!

このグループは、多賀城市内の小学校に通学する4〜6年生で構成されていて、今回は今年度のメンバー１３名のうち１０名の小学生たちが来てくださいました。また、このジュニア部をサポートするボランティアスタッフのみなさんも多賀城市近辺にお住まいの方々でした。This group has members from elementary schools in Tagajo, between 4th and 6th grade. 10 out of 13 members came to see us this time. All the vounteer staff live in Tagajo and surrounding areas.

今回は、みなさんと過ごす時間も限られていたため、ヤーンアライブハウスの見学をしていただいた後、クリスティーナさんとピーターから紐で編めるブレスレットの作り方を教えてもらいました。We didn't have much time together, but we showed them around the building, and then Christina and Peter taught everyone how to make bracelets with a piece of rope.

このグループは震災後は、支援を受けた国々を知ることから国際協力、国際支援について学び、自分たちのできることを考えてきたそうです。震災後5年にあたる今年は、内モンゴル出身の歌手イリナさんとの共催で、中国から被災地支援に訪れた子供たち(金色音符少年芸術団)とのコンサートを開催し、メンバーの子供たちは受け付けや司会として参加し、収益金を得たということです。今回は、この収益金からヤーンアライブに寄付をしてくださいました。彼らの活動は、「被災地の子供たちが発信する支援の連鎖」を掲げているそうです。子供たちがこのように大きな視野を持って活動していることは、素晴らしいですね！They have been focusing on learning about the countries that have helped the area with relief work after the disater. This year, a singer from Mongolia and this group organized a concert with Chinese musicians (children), where they raised some money to give to an organisation in the area. They liked what we do and decided to donate the money to us! They are passing on the support they have received! Isn't this wonderful!
